As we are officially on the last day of meteorological summer, we need to start thinking about where our properties meet the adopted highway. Our ‘summer’ has been perfect weather to help our gardens grow.
We have received quite a few reports of areas where it is difficult to pass properties where hedges, vegetation, etc. is overhanging the highway and footpaths.
Please can we ask that property owners cast a critical eye and check any hedges and trees along their garden boundaries with the public highway/footpath. It is a property owners’ responsibility to ensure that vegetation does not overhang or restrict access along a footpath.
Where I have been notified of particular overgrown properties, I will be making visits next week.
