I have lived in Great Shelford for around thirty years, with brief periods living in Stapleford and Willingham, and I consider the village very much ‘home’, enjoying all aspects of village life, the heritage and the rural influence that helps to make the wider Cambridge area so special. I have run my own business for many years and previously held a senior role with Cambridgeshire County Council. Over the years I have also been involved in a wide range of voluntary and community initiatives. This combination of commercial, public sector and voluntary experience is useful in my role as a Parish Councillor.

I see the role of a Parish Councillor as increasingly proactive, in order to represent the community served, when so many political bodies focus largely on economic rather than sociological progress. Environmental issues, both big E and little e, are my priority, and for me it is essential we put the ‘planet’ first, with ‘people’ and ‘place’ a close second.
