Simon became priest in charge of Great Shelford in July 2013 and subsequently Vicar in 2019 (he is also Vicar of Stapleford and Harston with Hauxton and Newton, where these parishes are served by two Associate Priests), after serving as Vicar of St Martin’s, Epsom for twelve years. He has been ordained since 1981 and has served in Norwich, Leeds and rural North Yorkshire. Originally from Newmarket, Simon is delighted to return to work in East Anglia where he has many friends and close family members.

Simon has wide parochial experience and is interested in community development, exploring faith and making links between the working world and the church. He has also served on Diocesan and national committees addressing the care and disposal of churches and clergy education and development. He has been a parish councillor since 2014. Simon’s other interests include cricket, walking, gardening and the outdoors, political
